The Deli is teaming up with OnMilwaukee and Feeding America SE Wisconsin to donate food items for the hungry, and according to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin executive director, Patti Habeck, peanut butter is the healthiest and most appreciated food item to donate.
OnMilwaukee has set up a drop box at the Peanut Butter & Jelly Deli to collect jars of peanut butter from local grocery stores. The peanut butter must be perishable so it must be the store bought kind.
If you bring in a jar of peanut butter, the Deli will make you a FREE Six Points Special sandwich!
Feeding America Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading hunger relief organization in the state, operating food banks in Milwaukee and the Fox Valley. With a network of 600 member organizations, the organization provides food to 400,000 people each year.
“To truly solve hunger, we need to stick together as a community – one jar of peanut butter at a time,” says PEANUT BUTTER & JOLLY organizer and OnMilwaukee senior writer and editorial manager, Molly Snyder.
